Mike delivers his thesis

Mooski and I booked out to Dartmouth on Thursday to hear Mike publicly deliver his thesis. He drew a large audience, received glowing praise from his professors and mentors, he was articulate, direct and to the point, and kept it relatively short. Of course, the chocolate chip cookies he and Kim baked were good too.

By the time we got home late that evening, MINI Moo was a bug-splattered mess and needed a quick wash before pulling into the garage. The only bummer for the day were all the slow-pokes on the road that prevented us from enjoying ourselves on the winding roads, but at least I didn't get a ticket. Moo got to pilot too. She was happy.

Rain, rain go away

We had one week of sunshine, I heard a weatherman on the radio saying we had 7 days in a row without significant precipitation, the first time in a year. But that seems over, it's right back to dark, dreary, rainy days. I yearn for the sunny drylands of New Mexico.

Shopping in Togaville

The woman on the right is clutching Giada DeLaurentis' new cookbook, with an orange bookmark sticking out of it. She's gonna make something yummy for dinner.

Altars of Rubbish

Good News - Some of you might remember my Hot Throbbing Brain web site. Probably the best thing that came out of that were my Dumpster Updates, which ended abruptly when the dumpsters disappeared one summer weekend. After all these years I still get asked when I'm going to do it again. Well, well...

Last Thursday a truck delivered two clothing dumpster to the parking lot behind where I work, freshly painted and ready for action. No one knows they're there yet, but pretty soon they'll become the dumping ground for all kinds of rubbish.

Silent Altars of Rubbish, pensive and blue, festively adorned, festooned some might say with cautionary poetry. I can't wait.

imac plus Stitch

We had thunder storms just about all night long and it's dark and dreary out there this morning, so here's a picture of my desk at work. Stitch is looking ornery on my 24" imac. I picked up my new cast of characters last weekend at a yard sale, bought them from some kid for a dime a piece.

Notice on the left, next to the water bottle - I'm scratching jobs off my to-do list. Way-to-go-me!

spammereeze

I'd like to share a couple of real spam gems with you...

"You like allure matron with vast enormous?"

- and -

"Do you mean get banged by your dick with tall woman?"

I dunno...that second one sounds painful, maybe not. Besides, I was already in the middle of emailing some Nigerian dude who needs my help. Later.

Dance Museum

Wow, I have to make sure I don't go wild, 2 pictures today. This is the sculpture outside of the National Museum of Dance. I always like this sculpture but I never thought it looked creepy, and now it does. I wonder if this has anything to do with me just watching an episode of Supernatural.

I took a bunch of shots while walking around the musem grounds after work. The sun was mostly behind clouds as it was going down, but it made for softer shadows.

Feels like summer

It finally felt like summer today in Saratoga, clear blue skies, hot and breezy, and some of our old vets were out soaking up the sunshine. Nice.
